My favorite muscle cars
of the 1960's
Ah, the swinging 60's. Days of surfing and fast muscle
cars. I was a student at the time and could not afford to purchase my own car. But the times were fast and exciting, and many manufacturers introduced fabulous muscle cars which are now legendary and very expensive. I had a chance to be a passenger in most of these machines back in the day, and the one car that remains the fastest accelerating in my mind is the AMC Rebel "Machine". See if you can find it here...
This is the type of car I learned to drive on. My dad had a 1969 blue Impala hardtop with black vinyl roof very similar to this one. (Not the SS model unfortunately!)
I tried to talk him into buying a Camero SS, but I don't think he wanted a new driver handling something so powerful...
Here are the other two cars that my dad owned in the 1960's - a 1959 Chevrolet Belair, and a 1964 Chevrolet Belair. I guess you could say he was a Chevy man.
