Party like it's 1999...

Is it just me, or did most television in the 1990s pretty much SUCK?

With a few notable exceptions listed here, I don't think I watched that much television for the entire decade.

On the technology side, television was now delivered by cable or through a new powerful Ku Band sattelite which allowed recievers with small antennas. Something called High Definition Television was popular in Japan, but had not hit America - yet.

Blockbuster Video, a popular video rental company that focused on VHS tape rentals in the 90s, briefly rented movies on laser disks, and quickly shifted to DVDs. (I still have about 100 movies on Laser Disk, and a working player).

Oh, well, with the new millenium hope springs eternal.

Father Ted was one of the funniest television programs ever made. If you've never seen Father Ted, check out one of my favorite episodes here --------->>>
